BIO 121 & 123/124 General Biology I & II
This two-semester course introduces modern biological concepts through demonstrations and lab work.
Students carry out experiments, view demonstrations, interpret experimental results, make drawings to document observations, and many other activities. You won’t just learn facts, you’ll see how the very fabric of all living things is woven by rich, interactive relationships.
BIO 121 focuses on the origin and diversity of life, cell structure, the development of animals, and principles of evolution. A lab period is included.
BIO 123 explores the principles of genetics; the flow of energy in living systems; anatomical details of roots, stems, leaves, and flowers; and the major organ systems of vertebrates. The lab for this course is BIO 124—dissections are required.
